Numero 28 Pizza (Carmine Street and Bleecker Street) – cash only, out of this world Neapolitan pizza. You must order the Bianca with Soppresatta pizza: mozzarella, ricotta, and spicy sausage. Their staff are (more often than not) pretty rude, but we tolerate it because the pizza is that good.
Bleecker Street Pizza (Bleecker Street and 7th Avenue) – cash only, perfect late-night pizza served by the slice. It has a spicier sauce and good "grandma" slice (thick crust, square shape). My husband's favorite by the slice!
Pizza Spunto (at Carmine Street near 7th Avenue) – Part of the Gruppo, Vezzo pizza joints around town. This is a good option for build-your-own, thin crust pizzas. It's a big space in case you come with a group.
Joe’s Pizza (Carmine Street near 6th Avenue) – This is a New York pizza institution, with pictures of famous people eating there on the walls to prove it! This is also a great late-night spot for slices.
Artichoke Pizza (Macdougal Street and Minetta Lane) – A deviation from classic New York pizza, Artichoke has super deep crust pizza. Their famous slice is basically cheesy artichoke dip on a pizza. You only need one slice because it's very rich.
