Daddy-O (Bedford Street and 7th Avenue) - across the corner from Village Tavern, this is better if you're looking for a more civilized bar scene with TV screens. Neighborhood chefs come here after their shifts for excellent late night food, including sloppy joe's and a spicy chicken sandwich. Also: tater tots.
Dennehy’s (Carmine Street near Bedford Street) - your typical Irish bar with a large downstairs area for group events. If you're looking to watch European football (or American, for that matter), this is a good spot.
Houston Hall (Houston Street near 7th Avenue) - a huge warehouse space-meets-beer-garden) that is great for groups. It'll be a mad house on the weekends, but it's a good spot for groups to meet, especially earlier in the day.
Village Tavern (Bedford Street and 7th Avenue) - it smells like the basement of a fraternity house, but they'll have any football game playing, and it's a larger space to meet up with people.
Wilfie & Nell (West 4th Street near 7th Avenue) - a cozier pub with nice nooks for day drinking, especially their Pimm's Cups. Friendly bartenders and a nice spot to meet someone on a first date.
