Murray's Cheese Shop (Bleecker at Cornelia) – obviously the best cheese shop around, but also has awesome pressed sandwiches and prepared foods, now with a big selection of beers and other interesting snacks. This is where we go to stock up for picnics on the Westside Highway.

The Original Sandwich Shoppe of NYC (Greenwich Avenue and Perry Street) – less gourmet and very old-school, but these guys put some serious love in their sandwiches. Their housemade herbal mayo is serious, as is their addictive and top-secret hot sauce.
